This reminder addresses the preparation of W-2 Forms for your employees who participated in the Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account during the calendar year 2018. The IRS requires that you supply the amount contributed for the Dependent Care FSA in Box 10.

The Box 10 figure is the total amount salary reduced from the employee (plus any amount contributed by the employer through flex credits, if applicable) for the Dependent Care FSA during the calendar year ending December 31, 2018. This figure must be supplied for the entire calendar year, even if the Flex Plan itself operates on a fiscal year basis.

While in most cases, payroll services and/or software automatically enter this amount in Box 10; we bring this to your attention to ensure the proper completion of W-2 Forms.

For more information or questions regarding Dependent Care FSAs and W-2 Forms, feel free to contact us.
