Q&A: Participants: Eligible Expenses

« Back

Question: Are expenses for kindergarten or grade school eligible under the Dependent Care FSA?

Answer:

No.

Educational expenses are generally not eligible for Dependent Care FSA reimbursement.  Preschool expenses, before-school programs, after-school programs, and day camps or summer camps are reimbursable.  Expenses for kindergarten or grade school, whether public or private, are not considered by the IRS to be eligible work-related child care expenses.
