Inventory Information Approval System

There are currently over 4000 national, regional and local merchants using or planning to implement the Inventory Information Approval System, or "IIAS." When a participant swipes the Flex Card at a participating merchant, the system automatically validates eligible items purchased at the point of sale, and requires an alternate method of payment for ineligible items purchased at the same time. Consequently, further documentation is not needed from the participant for these transactions. This is great news for participants and makes the Flex Card even more convenient and easy to use. Learn more about IIAS here (PDF).

Participants, please note: Due to IRS regulations, as of 7/1/2009, the Flex Card does not work at a retail merchant without the IIAS in place. You can use the list below to see if your favorite retail location is currently participating or has plans to participate. Check the Planned Merchant Implementation Date column: Live indicates that the merchant has the IIAS in place; a date indicates the expected date for IIAS participation, and TBD indicates that the merchant is currently working on implementing the system but does not yet have an expected date of completion.

Please note: Walgreens is not included on this list, because they are using a separate standard. However, your Flex Card will work at Walgreens. Also note: Although Costco Wholesale is included on this list, the Flex Card will not work there, as they do not accept credit cards. The Flex Card will work at Costco.com.
