IN MEMORY OF WES MORGAN
Husband, Father, Servant, Leader, Businessman, Missionary, Friend
1952-2007
Founder, ProBenefits and Professional Insurance Planning
Our friend Wes Morgan passed away on April 22, 2007 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. On behalf of Wes, Barbie, and the Morgan family, we at ProBenefits would like to thank each of you who faithfully prayed for Wes and who offered encouragement and support.
In 1976, Wes founded Professional Insurance Planning, a successful insurance and financial planning company. In 1991, Wes founded ProBenefits, an employee benefit administration firm which grew in his tenure from a start-up company to a company that currently serves 1200 companies across the Southeastern United States. Wes was a brilliant entrepreneur and talented businessman, and he consistently displayed the highest standard of integrity and professionalism in all business endeavors.
Wes was also blessed with a passion for missions and ministry. Wes worked with New Directions International of Burlington, NC as a coordinator for missions in the Republic of Haiti. Wes' work in Haiti provided him the opportunity to meet and serve many people that he grew to love very much. He organized funding for feeding programs, crusades, schools, pastor training, and numerous other ministries. Wes had a special fondness for the children of Haiti, and he dedicated himself to their welfare, training, and salvation.
Wes is survived by his wife of 31 years, Barbie, his daughter, Marissa, his son, Nate, and his mother, Annie Laurie Morgan.
Near the end of his illness, Wes wrote, "Surely I am one of the most fortunate men ever to have lived. I give glory and honor to Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, for the free gift of eternal life through my acceptance of His offer of sheer grace. This led to my experiencing the abundant life just as He promised. Now, having completed my journey, I have relocated to my heavenly home."
A celebration of Wes' life was held at College Park Baptist Church on Friday evening, April 27 at 6:30pm. The family received friends after the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions may be made to the College Park Baptist Church Benevolence Fund "In Memory of Wes Morgan." Contributions may be directed to College Park Baptist Church, 1701 Polo Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27106. In addition, funds are being solicited by business associates to benefit a Haitian orphanage that was dear to Wes' heart and ministry. Donations toward the orphanage project may be directed to New Directions International, PO Box 2347, Burlington, NC 27216.
Wes was truly one of a kind. All of us at ProBenefits have been deeply touched by his friendship and impacted by his life and commitment. As we go forward, we will seek to honor Wes' memory through our business and our lives.
